CPAT and PPA Connect Via Social Media
The California Partnership for Access to Treatment (CPAT) has launched a Facebook page and Twitter feed to better inform advocacy, community, health and business organizations of current health issues and upcoming CPAT events. Through these popular social networking platforms, CPAT can actively engage our partners on a more frequent basis and create a meaningful dialogue with our partners, as well as reaching out to new audiences, on the information that matters the most to California's healthcare stakeholders.
Details about upcoming seminars, monthly newsletters, partner events, relevant news articles and network milestones will now be available to anyone who checks the CPAT Facebook page and Twitter feed.
CPAT encourages all partner organizations who utilize Facebook to become a fan at www.facebook.com/CaAccess or by searching "California Partnership for Access to Treatment" on Facebook. Those who use Twitter can follow CPAT at www.twitter.com/CaAccess.
The Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA) has also launched a new online resource designed to expand the program's outreach and help even more Americans access free or nearly free medicines. "PPA 2.0," an evolution of the nationwide effort sponsored by America's pharmaceutical research and biotechnology companies, was unveiled during a celebration of the PPA's five-year anniversary.
"PPA 2.0" makes it even easier to obtain information about PPA programs by launching a new text hotline and smart phone application, in addition to the existing toll-free hotline and Web site (www.pparx.org). By providing another platform for patients, PPA is ensuring that patients have around-the-clock access to information about the more than 475 programs offered through the PPA and nearly 200 of the programs are provided by pharmaceutical companies.
